I Got Stung - Elvis Presley - Elvis Presley (2) (Cassette)

Shaker SteveMar 21, We had an Elvis songbook in our house and this was part of my early curiosity and sight reading as a young guitar player in the 80's. I then ended up getting a cassette of 30 of his hits.

My favorite Elvis memory is that documentary that was on network TV that he "narrated". Anyone remember that thing? It was so stupid. It was clearly produced after his death, but they ended up getting some yokel to do the Elvis voice to narrate.

I'd actually really like to see that thing again just to see how bad it really was. Location: USA. PaulKTFMar 21, Location: NYC Man. I was born in Both parents were pretty big Elvis fans. Concert recordings from '71 are hard to come by these da ys, especially unreleased ones. During this season, Elvis was on fire, and his setlist was varied and strong. Near the end of the engagement, his shows were a bit looser, and this one is a real delight.

This concert recording is a completely new show, even for the hardcore fans. The audio was mastered from an original audience recorded cassette tape. Interestingly enough, RCA was there to record, but their tape recorder malfunctioned. Now you can finally hear what RCA tried to record!! This concert is taken from a recently discovered original audience recorded cassette tape. Unfortunately, "An American Trilogy" is incomplete, and it is possible that there's is one song missing, just before the "Can't Help Falling In Love" finale.

As we've come to expect from the April '72 shows, Elvis is in excellent form. And what a rare treat to finally get an audience recorded tape from this highly regarded tour! Elvis is firing on all cylinders. He knocks "How Great Thou Art" out of I Got Stung - Elvis Presley - Elvis Presley (2) (Cassette) ballpark. Wow, just wow!! As usual, this CD is packaged in a nicely designed digipack with excerpts from a local press review and a collection of images taken on tour in April, including a couple of real, very rare Knoxville show shots.

In recent years, some younger fans claimed that Elvis' performances in LA were mediocre. Nevertheless, fans who were present always mentioned these were "kick-ass perfor-mances". It's worth mentioning that these shows were attended by a few members of the hard-rock band 'Led Zeppelin' as well as by Bill Wyman, the Rolling Stones bass player.
